Flights
LaGuardia Airport (LGA) – ~40 minutes by car/taxi
John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) – ~60 minutes by car/taxi
Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) – ~45–60 minutes by car/taxi
All three airports offer taxi, ride-share (Uber/Lyft), and public transit connections into Manhattan.
Public Transit from Airports:
From LaGuardia: M60 SBS bus to subway (B/C trains at 125th Street)
From JFK: AirTrain to subway (E train to C train)
From Newark: AirTrain to NJ Transit to Penn Station, then subway (C train)
TRAIN
Penn Station (Amtrak, NJ Transit, Long Island Rail Road) is about a 20-minute subway ride from the Museum. Take the C train uptown to 81st Street–Museum of Natural History station.
Grand Central Terminal (Metro-North) is about 25 minutes away from the Museum. Take the S shuttle to the Times Square-42 Street station, then transfer to the B train uptown to 81st Street–Museum of Natural History.
Subway
The Museum is directly served by the 81st Street–Museum of Natural History Station on the B and C subway lines.
You can also take the 1 train to 79th Street and walk a few blocks east.
Taxis and Rideshare
Yellow cabs, Uber, and Lyft are widely available throughout New York City and at all airports and train stations.
