Kahoot! Quizzes

These Kahoot! quizzes, created by the American Museum of Natural History, tie into three of the museum’s OpenSpace livestreams, virtual “field trips” to Mars, Moon, and Earth. These can be used to pretest knowledge or check understanding, and are best if played synchronously with a group.

NASA’s Eyes is immersive software produced by the Jet Propulsion Laboratory that allows real-time 3D exploration of the Earth, our Solar System, and exoplanets, and over 120 NASA missions from 1950 to 2050. Like OpenSpace, Eyes uses real data to visualize planets, moons, asteroids, spacecraft, and more.

Some interactives like the Mars 2020 mission and Orrery can be viewed on your internet browser, but there is also a downloadable free app for your desktop computer with even more visualizations.

Eyes is an excellent resource to complement exploration in OpenSpace. The browser-based Eyes can be used on mobile and tablet devices, which is not possible with OpenSpace.

The Solar System Treks are online, browser-based portals that allow you to visualize, explore, and analyze the surfaces of other worlds using real data returned from a growing fleet of spacecraft. You can view the worlds through the eyes of many different instruments, pilot real-time 3D flyovers above mountains and into craters, and conduct measurements of surface features. The portals provide exciting capabilities for mission planning, planetary science, and public outreach.
